Maham Shahzadi is the Co-Founder and CEO of ESG Lab and Founder of Eco-She from Pakistan. Her advice to aspiring young women entrepreneurs is to start small. Don’t wait for perfect timing or ideal circumstances. Take that first step, no matter how uncertain, the journey unfolds from there.

From transforming agricultural waste into eco-friendly paper products to creating jobs for rural women in Pakistan, Maham’s work is a powerful youth-led innovation. ESG Lab is also pioneering Pakistan’s first ESG Readiness Assessment Tool, helping businesses align with sustainability standards.

Last month, Maham showcased her impactful work at the APFSD Youth Forum 2025 led by ARROW and partners, where the YECAP Regional Dialogue amplified youth voices for a sustainable future.

Tomorrow is #InternationalWomensDay, and we are celebrating young women changemakers who turn passion into purpose.

M S F Shamla is the Founder of Global Youth Climate Connect from Sri Lanka. Through innovation and purposeful leadership, she has spearheaded numerous climate initiatives. She was part of the National COP delegation from COP27 and was one of the key driving forces behind the first National Youth Statement for COP28.

To Shamla, empowering young women as climate leaders and entrepreneurs goes beyond building businesses and leadership—it’s about fostering changemakers who drive sustainable solutions, shape the green economy, challenge norms, and advance economic independence for all.

Last month, Shamla joined 13 other young leaders in Asia-Pacific at the RYPCA Dialogue, co-organized by YECAP, UNDP, and partners with support from Sweden, to foster meaningful discussions and valuable connections with senior parliamentarians, ministers, and experts to continue pushing policy action at all levels.
