The application is now open for the Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform (YECAP) Fellowship Programme, Cohort #3. Youth from Asia and the Pacific between the ages 18-35 who can commit to the six-month programme with 4-5 hours of weekly engagement; are driven to enhance their climate action and scale their impact nationally and regionally; and hold a minimum of one-year work experience in community building, climate change or youth engagement are invited and encouraged to apply by 11:59 pm (GMT+7) on 15 August 2022.

The Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform (YECAP) Fellowship was first launched in 2021 as a six-month comprehensive regional fellowship programme offered by the convening partners of the platform namely UNDP in Asia and the Pacific, UNFCCC Regional Collaboration Centre for Asia and the Pacific, RCC Bangkok, in collaboration with UNICEF East Asia and Pacific, UNICEF South Asia, the British Council, YOUNGO, Movers Programme and the 2030 Youth Force, to train young leaders across the region to scale up local initiatives to implement climate action.

As youth voices play a pivotal role in elevating actions on the climate agenda, the YECAP Fellowship Programme is committed to integrating different approaches for taking actions.

This Fellowship will provide a platform for 100 young people to work with a diverse group of young climate activists and to contribute towards elevating their voices to advocate for climate action priorities and systematic change.

Fellows will join the following sectors: communication, coordination and specialist. They will learn from modules on climate education, community engagement, mobilization and outreach in broader networks, and more opportunities for the Fellows to work together as a collective and personal capstone project such as contributing to the Asia-Pacific Climate Week, COP27 and beyond.
